Winner of the Matariki Design

Superstar, Cira Wilson, makes her mark as the design winner.

Pepeha, formally introduces herself as a, wahine, honouring her fathers side from Waikato, tribe, river and mountain, located on the North Island of New Zealand.

With grace and ease, a paintbrush in her hand, a smile, she added her final markings to her piece with her mother Jenny and sister visiting the Diamond Arcania | School of Arts while taking mobile phone calls from loved ones.

The Kapa Haka group Tu Te Awaroa, a local cultural group, accepted her piece for this years banner for the Matariki Festival. The Matariki Festival is the maouldi New Year of the seasonal change of crops to grow

Proud of her culture and identity, perfect life balance, her target is to get an ATAR of 90 or above to complete her first year of University. Enjoying her final year of school, she will take every opportunity.

Currently studying psychology and literature in her final final year, Cira's quest is to become a Occupational Therapist.

In her down time, Cira is a big sister and puts her mind at ease with arts and crafts. Arts and crafts aside and multicultural facets under her belt, the observant star mentioned her love for sport and competitiveness away from the books with Rugby Union, Rugby League, AFL, Oz Tag and Volley Ball.

Wilson went away for School for the All Schools Queensland Oz Tag Competition last year. The competition was held on the Sunshine Coast as she Captained the Team of 16 in the Open Womens Division.

Her diverse Rugby League skills also landed her a place in the School Girls Rugby League Team where she also went to Mackay for Rugby League Confraternity. The Team consisted of 22 Women that comprised of 10 Teams in the competition placing 4th. "Not the Podium Finish" as she described the moment.

Very passionate about sport, she lastly mentioned her trip away to Townsville with her AFL Team to compete in the AFL Competition.

What' your favourite plant? Aloe Vera Plant

Giggling with a smile on her face, 'from the many sun tans to skin therapy' she confirmed her favourite plant is the Aloe Vera for its healing properties.

She continued to reflect on her childhood memories and her Aunty being a leading maouldi traditional medicine woman. Her Aunty slapped Aloe Vera on her back because of Sun burn.
